The Colony
The QUEEN!
There is only one queen in a given hive, she is the largest bee in the Colony! She is basically there for two main processes one being to produce chemical scents that help regulate the unity of the colony and the other being to lay a lot of eggs. In fact, she lays around 1,500 eggs a day in 30 second intervals.
The Workers!
The only bees you will ever see, they are not sexually develped females. They gather food from pollen and nector from flowers to build and protect the hive. They also circulate air by beating their wings and preform many other tasks.

The Drones!
Procreation is the drone’s primary purpose in life. Despite their high maintenance (they must be fed and cared for by the worker bees), drones are tolerated and allowed to remain in the hive because they may be needed to mate with a new virgin queen (when the old queen dies or needs to be superseded).
